Alice Lee Cross Obituary
Alice Marie (Warren) Lee Cross, 79, of Mount Pulaski, died at 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, at her residence.
Mrs. Cross was born on Aug. 25, 1932, to Walter and Linda Mooney Warren in Milmine. She was a registered nurse. She was the former Director of Nursing at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mount Pulaski as well as the school nurse at Mount Pulaski Grade School.
She married Robert S. Lee on June 7, 1953, in Mount Pulaski. He preceded her in death on June 24, 1985. She married Dr. Leland Cross on June 25, 2005, in Lincoln. He survives.
Mrs. Cross was a volunteer for the Mount Pulaski Historical Museum, the Mount Pulaski Grade School, and for the American Red Cross. She was a Decatur Memorial Hospital School of Nursing Alumni. She was also affiliated with the Mount Pulaski Christian Church and Mount Pulaski St. John's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband; four daughters, Theresa (Norman) McCormick of Decatur, Debby (Larry) Evans of Flanagan, Carolyn (Dave) Frank of Arenzville and Laura Lee of Mount Pulaski. She is also survived by six stepchildren, Laurel Cross of Washington State, Maribeth (Ted) Bergstrom of Walla Walla, Wash., Lavonne (Andrew) Cross of Beaverton, Ore., Andrew (Barb) Cross of Portland, Ore., Janine (Colin) Saxton of Newberg, Ore., and Teresa Cross of Williamsburg, Va. One brother, John (Marilyn) Warren of Duluth, Minn.; three sisters, Anna (Paul) Quandt of Cocoa, Fla., Betty (Keith) Marlow of Albuquerque, N.M., and Pansy Drake of Colliersville Tenn.; six grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren also survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob Lee; four brothers; and one sister.
Services for Mrs. Cross will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with Norman McCormick officiating. There will be a visitation 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. Burial will follow the service at Steenbergen Cemetery in Mount Pulaski. Memorials may be made to Vonderlieth Living Center or to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Research Foundation.
