Amy Darwent Obituary
Jacksonville - Amy Jo Darwent, 56, of South Jacksonville, died Friday, January 14, 2022, in Jacksonville. She was born December 26, 1965, in Jacksonville, the daughter of William Joseph and Bernice Surratt McCurley. Amy married Mark Stephen Darwent on April 11, 1986, and he preceded her in death on September 21, 2016.
Amy is survived by two children, Justin (Lexanne) Darwent of Rochester and Brittany (Kyle) Edwards of Jacksonville; four grandchildren, Eliza and Avery Dyson and Lyle and Larson Darwent; and one half-brother, Billy McCurley of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jody R. McCurley.
Amy graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1983. She previously worked for the State of Illinois School for the Visually Impaired and enjoyed bowling league with friends.
Private services will be held. Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice. The Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.

Justin and Brittany, I am so sorry for your loss of your mom and Grandma. Amy was a light in the dark. Her witt and smile was contagious. She bought me a gold ring when i retired and i wear it everyday. Your grandma was also a great presence. She bragged on you both and your children every time that i spoke with her. My heart is broken and my prayers are with you both. Give the pain to God and celebrate their lives.
