Ashland - Bonnie Jeane Wallace, 81 of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Scott County Nursing Center. She was born April 21, 1944, in Arenzville the daughter of George and Betty (Schnitker) Manker. She married Rodney Wallace on October 4, 1963, at Faith Lutheran Church in Jacksonville and he survives.
She is also survived by two sons, Chad Wallace of Ashland, Eric (Sarah) Wallace of Scottville; one daughter, Kristen (John) Heaton of Winchester; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Matt) Derry, Kyle (Sydnee) Wallace, Erin Wallace, Connor Heaton, Eric Michael, Andrew Wallace, and Marley Wallace; five great grandchildren, Emma Derry, Zoey Derry, Wyatt Wallace, Hattie Jeane Wallace and Barrett Wallace; step mother, Marian Manker; two brothers, Fred Manker and Bob Manker (companion Lisa Timm); three sisters, Vicky Smith, Julie (Collin) Brennan, and Brenda (JD) Hawk; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, one brother, Robin Manker and one sister in infancy, Betty Manker.
Bonnie worked as a nurse for many years and began her career at the state hospital in Jacksonville and retired from Passavant. She was a woman of deep faith who devoted her life to taking care of not just her family but anyone she could help. She loved to cook and was especially proud of her nursing career. Bonnie was a member at Faith Lutheran Church in Jacksonville.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Faith Lutheran Church in Jacksonville. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Memorials are suggested to Faith Lutheran Church or Central Illinois Nurse Honor Guard.
