Monroe, IN - Dallas Lynn Taylor, 42, of Monroe, Indiana was welcomed home to Heaven on Thursday evening, August 19, 2021, at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis, following a courageous battle with Lymphoma.
He was born January 20, 1979, in Jacksonville, Illinois to William "Bill" and Sandra "Susie" (Megginson) Taylor. On June 9, 2001, he was united in marriage to Ashley Smith.
Dallas worked from a young age for many businesses around Murrayville. He worked many years for his father's trucking business, Taylor Trucking in Murrayville, Illinois. Later when he moved to Indiana, Dallas worked "In the Family Business" at Decatur Ace Hardware as the manager. He had also received his Motorcycle Repair Mechanic Certification and had his Diesel Mechanic Certification.
Dallas was a loving father and husband and was always willing to help others. He was a member of Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by his wife, Ashley, of Monroe, Indiana; his four children, Korbin, Talon, Paisley, and Kipton Taylor all at home; parents Bill and Susie Taylor of Murrayville, Illinois; two brothers, Dustin (Marcie) Taylor of Murrayville, Illinois; Kent (Lisa) Taylor of Jacksonville, Illinois; his grandfather, Kenneth Megginson, of Murrayville, Illinois; mother and father-in-law James and Stephanie Smith of Huntington, Indiana; and two brother-in-law's, Andrew Smith of Decatur, Indiana and Austin (Courtney) Smith of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; Emma, Addison, Maybree, and Lynnlee Taylor of Murrayville, IL; Landon, Keagen, and Grayson Taylor of Jacksonville, IL; Allie and Lucy Smith of Decatur, IN; and several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Dean and Donna Taylor and Mary Anita Megginson and one nephew, baby James William Taylor.
A visitation was held on August 23 at the Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral home in Decatur, Indiana and the funeral service was held on August 24 at the Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren in Decatur, Indiana.
