Beardstown - Debra Jane Thompson, 66, of Beardstown, IL passed away at 12:44 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2023 at her home. She was born on September 26, 1956 at Beardstown, IL a daughter of the late Billy Lee & Norma J. Winkelman Cook. She married William Thompson on February 10, 1995 in Rushville, IL. He survives along with (4) children; Michelle Coll & Kevin, Mack Dailey, Christie Weishaar & Tim, Billy Thompson & Stephanie, (13) grandchildren; Ben Weishaar & Danielle, Alex Cook & Jeff, Courtney Redmond & Mike, Nick Weishaar & Katie, Quentin Thompson, Kelsey Edmonds & Troy, Sydney Emerick, Brendan Dailey, Garrett Dailey, Teagan Coll, Shean Coll, Braedan Coll, Jude Williams, (4) great grandchildren, (2) brothers; George Cook & Alberta, Donald Cook & Kim. She was preceded in death by (1) sister; Diane Lancaster, (1) brother; Billy Lee Cook. Debra was employed at the Park House Hotel, was a bartender at the Dirty Shame and The Central in Beardstown, IL. She retired from Family Dollar in 2021 after 26 years of service. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Beardstown. She enjoyed her fur baby, Buddy, her flower garden, traveling to Florida and attending her Church. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children & grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2023 at the First Christian Church of Beardstown with Rev. Mike Courson officiating. Interment will follow in Sheldon's Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville, IL. Memorials may be given to Hope Blooms or the First Christian Church of Beardstown.
