Edward C. Dufelmeier, 89, of rural Concord went to his heavenly home Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Heritage Health in Jacksonville.
Edward was born March 21, 1932, in Scott County, the son of Carl and Hulda (Schnake) Dufelmeier. In 1939 his parents moved to a farm near Concord, Illinois where he lived the rest of his life. Edward is survived by one sister, Melba (Edward) Meyer of Cicero, New York; three brothers, Alvin (Joyce) Dufelmeier of Moline, Earl Dufelmeier of Boone, Iowa, and Merle (Sharon) Dufelmeier of Jacksonville; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Erna Gilman.
Edward was a retired grain and livestock farmer. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1956 and is a Korean Veteran. A devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Arenzville, he served as a Sunday School Teacher for over 25 years, an usher and served on various church boards. He was very active in the Lutheran Laymens League.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arenzville. Burial will be held at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, north of Arenzville. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Memorial gifts are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran School or donor's choice.
