Gary R. Turner, 58, of Jacksonville passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
He was born Dec. 19, 1962, in Jacksonville, the son of Gerald and Barbara Morrow Turner. He married Anita M. Heissinger on Dec. 14, 2001.
Surviving are his wife, Anita Turner of Alexander; a son, Brandon West of Springfield; a stepson, Justin Pate of Springfield; brothers, Gerald (Karla) Turner, Darrell (Angie) Turner and Mike (Carol) Turner, all of Jacksonville; sisters, Penny (David) Chamberlain of Jacksonville and Christina (Chris) Morton of Alton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Terry Turner.
Gary was a history buff. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears and Cubs, fishing and spending time with his family.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 29, 2021, at Daws Funeral Home in Jacksonville with interment at Wood Wreath Cemetery in New Berlin. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Monday until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Wood Wreath Cemetery. Condolences maybe left online at dawsfuneralhome.com.
