Roodhouse -
Glenn E. Taylor, age 94 of Roodhouse passed away Monday, January 3, 2022 at Boyd Memorial Hospital in Carrollton. He was born September 5, 1927 in White Hall, the son of Everett and Beatrice Hopcraft Taylor. He married Laura Eileen Barnett May 29, 1953, at the Manchester Methodist Church and she preceded him in death September 2, 2014.
Also surviving are, three daughters: Gail (Rick) Overby of Lufkin, Texas, Sheryl (Allen) Vinyard of Hillview, and Mary Linn Coonrod of Patterson; nine grandchildren: Jeremy Overby, Benjamin Overby, Jacob Overby, Erinn Overby, Josh Vinyard, Corey Vinyard, Dana Osborne, Dirk Coonrod, and Dawn George; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and a brother, Dean Taylor.
Glenn served in the United States Air Force from 1945-1949 as staff sergeant working as a control tower operator and teletype operator. He worked for several years at the Greene Drive in Movie Theater as the movie projector operator and for Hopkin's Jewelry in Roodhouse from 1952 until 1973. Glenn and Eileen owned and operated Taylor's Jewelry in Roodhouse since 1973. He loved to travel, work on watches, reading, riding motorcycles, and spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Roodhouse.
Private graveside services will be held in Pine Tree Cemetery in Patterson. There will be no visitation. Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Roodhouse is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be suggested to Emmanuel Baptist Church or Pine Tree Cemetery. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com

I am very sorry to read of your dad's passing. I enjoyed visiting with both your parents when I went in their shop. Your dad did great work on clocks and jewelry. Please accept my sincere sympathy.
