I worked for the Bob and Jim more than thirty years ago at the Blackhawk. Jim was always very kind back then, and remained so over the years when I seen him at the Country Club. Jim was an honorable man and will be missed.

I rented an apartment from Jim and Carolyn for a few years in the early 90's. He was the best landlord. I only left when I bought my first house. I can still remember him saying "you rent an apartment, you buy a house". Prayers to Carolyn and family.

When my husband Mark Robert Black passed away from cancer 10 years ago, his uncle Jim was such a joy. He and Carolyn came to Minnesota for the funeral, made great friends with my son Connor...I have always held a special place in my heart for Uncle Jim. He shared with me that Mark and my wedding in our small country church was one of the best weddings he had ever
attended. I would have loved to have had more contact with this lovely man, but lots of miles in between, plus he had his own children/grandchildren to take up his time. Rest in peace...you will be missed

Mr. Black was my landlord at the Jim & I apartments in 1991. He was a very nice man and a very accommodating landlord. I was living there with two babies while my husband was in basic training and once he received his orders for us to move to Alaska, Mr. Black let me out of my lease and wished us well. He left a positive impression on me that I keep to this day. I am sorry to read of his passing and my sincere condolences go to his family and loved ones.
