Jeffrey Ritter Obituary
Prescott, AZ - Jeffrey Alan Ritter, 51, of Prescott, Arizona, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2022. Jeff was born in Park Ridge, Illinois on July 24, 1971, to Gary and Judith Ritter. His family includes his sister Ginger, brother-in-law Bryan and niece Ava Marie Nolte. Jeff graduated from Prescott High School in 1990 and went on to study Public Relations at Arizona State University, graduating in 1994.
After graduating from Arizona State, Jeff went to work in Los Angeles as a Publicist/Public Relations agent for Rogers & Cowan and CBS. He enjoyed working on various TV productions, some of which are: The Donny and Marie Show, Cybil, Jeopardy (10 years), Nancy Grace and others. Jeff was a voting member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
Jeff loved to travel! He loved meeting and reacting with people around the world. In High School, he was selected to travel with a group of young students to Russia as a representative for People to People International. From Russia to Hong Kong, and between, he made friends easily. Jeff loved to cook and experiment in the kitchen. He also loved the outdoors; enjoyed skiing, fishing, horseback riding and taking care of his many animals when he was growing up.
A private burial was held at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Jacksonville, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, Jeff would want you to make a donation to your local food bank. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville was in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be left at buchanancody.com.
Jeff will be missed by all, but never forgotten. God Bless.

When Jeff was in Elementary School with Jennifer Benedict we used to make up skits and little plays to perform at Jeff's home. Yes, he was a performer from an early age. I am now retired from teaching school, in my 70's and still have an image of younger Jeff playing a comedian. When people say "the good old days" they were. Innocent and fun. Pleased Jeff had a successful career in TV Land and working with personalities we all know and love. Judy and Gary and Ginger...sending love your way and my sincere condolences.

Jeff was one of the sunniest people I ever knew... and a born comic. From his descriptions of adventures in Prescott and skiing in the Alps with his parents, to our own amazing times in the Soviet Union with our PHS classmates... just 4 months before the Berlin Wall fell. Our heartfelt thoughts to his parents and family... Jeff was too young and will forever shine.
