I recently became acquainted with Eloise Quinley as I was writing a story about her uncle Charles Darling Brown who was lost at Pearl Harbor. I contacted Eloise and had a couple of phone conversations with her about her uncle and she was so very kind and so very gracious. She kept telling me that she didn't think she had anything she could add to the story, but her contributions were priceless and I so enjoyed our conversations. It was a lovely experience talking with her. I was so saddened to hear of her passing and I send my sincere condolences to her family and friends.

On behalf of my parents Nance and Norman Bryant, we would like to extend our sympathies to Eloise's family from all in our family! Eloise was such a special lady and I know that my Mom considered her a close friend and mentor especially during all the years of their work together at SBA and bus trips. Eloise was truly a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing her!

Eloise and I became good friends over the years when my husband and I visited our Quinley relatives in Ashland, driving or flying from Washington state. Eloise and I were like sisters and truly enjoyed our time together. She always had a special treat for our visits, often an evening of theater. She was a wonderful, gracious host and we returned home to Washington looking forward to our next year's visit. Thank you, Eloise, for the memories. Alice

So sorry for your loss. I knew Eloise through Sam - I was a classmate of his. I was so shocked to see the note in SJ-R. I had just received an e-mail from Eloise on 23 Nov. We enjoyed sharing interesting e-mails. May God give you comfort and peace.

It has been a sad day when we have lost one of our great friends. Louise and her friends invited me into their groups that met for dinner and so on over the years and then finally at steak and shake on Sunday mornings. I kept in contact with her as much as I possibly couldIn the last few days. She was quite the lady the lady and I will definitely miss her.
