Marion Seymour Obituary

Marion Homer Seymour, 90, of Jacksonville, passed away early Tuesday morning, Oct. 11, 2016, at Heritage Health in Jacksonville.

He was born Oct. 1, 1926, near Franklin, the son of Homer W. and Alphonsine Marie Porche' Seymour. He married Bonnie Ruth Long on Aug. 12, 1951, in Jacksonville, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 22, 1989.

He is survived by one daughter, Jane (husband, Roger) Adams of Franklin; six grandchildren, Eric Seymour of Franklin, Kyle (wife, Jackie) Seymour of Murrayville, Gina (husband, Tim) Mooberry of Franklin, Bob Jones of Franklin, Danielle (husband, Jake) Phillips and Roger "Lee" Adams II both of Franklin; seven great-grandchildren, Barak Jones, Jacob Courier, Taj Jones, Brianna Courier, Frankie Hoots, Finley Seymour and Pistol Phillips; two sisters, Lillian Matlock of South Jacksonville and Alice McGlasson of Pekin. He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Gene Seymour (surviving wife, Mary Jo of Franklin); one granddaughter, Amanda Jo Seymour; three brothers, Arthur Seymour, John B. Seymour and Robert Seymour; and two sisters, Helen Williams and Odette Pittman.

Mr. Seymour had been employed as a painter at MacMurray College in Jacksonville for 26 years, retiring in 1991. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of VFW Post 1379, Amvets Post 100 and a 52 year member of Franklin American Legion Post 1089. He enjoyed square dancing, baseball and going to truck and tractor pulls.

A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Williamson Funeral Home with burial at Franklin Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Franklin American Legion Post 1089. Condolences may be left online at airsman-hires.com.
