Mark Wallbaum Obituary
Mark Wallbaum left this world joining his Heavenly family and friends.
Born to Vivian and Joe Wallbaum, growing up on a farm, finding things to make using his creative mind.
He graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1965, joining the Army, serving in Vietnam and Korea.
He attended Airplane Mechanics School in Carbondale then worked for Rust Aviation and flew his first plane. Later he was hired on by American Airlines working 35 years in Chicago and San Diego.
He spent his off time flying Ultralites, riding Motorcycles and traveling.
Preceding him in death were his parents, baby sister, aunts, uncles, and special friend Andy Harris.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene Wallbaum; sisters, Reta Hamel (Cliff), Mary Welsh (Dan); daughter, Jennifer Gaston; son, Mark Wallbaum; stepchildren, Rod Rangeloff (Tamela), Jennifer Donovan (Mark), Heather Fitzgerald (John); grandchildren, Andre and Nathan Gaston, Isabelle Wallbaum, Sophie and Michael Donovan; nieces and nephew; and special friend Barb Wallbaum.
Memorial services at a later date.

I am sad to learn of Mark´s passing and have many fond memories of dancing the Green Onion and the Stroll with him in high school at Y dances. He was funny and a dear friend, and we had some good talks post-high school. May he rest in peace.

Mark joined our class in the upper grades of South Jacksonville School, and when I last saw him, many years ago, at a high school class reunion, I recall his beautiful description of having gone to the desert area of California and looking up at the stars. He shared a lot of information about California that particular evening at dinner, and it was impressive to hear his great appreciation of nature regarding the California environment. I send sympathy to all of Mark´s family.

So sorry to hear of Mark´s passing. He was a good friend to so many in our high school class of 1965. He was the life of the party always smiling and friendly. Rest in Peace dear friend.
