Michael Hogan Obituary
Michael Kevin Hogan, 60, formerly of Jacksonville, IL passed away August 10th in Washington after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born August 30, 1962, son of Robert E. Hogan and Joyce S.Kramer. Mike is survived by his mother Joyce (Paul) Kramer of Springfield, one brother Pat Hogan of Jacksonville, three sisters Ann Marie (William) Swalley of Glen Carbon, Mary Jo (Mark) Weimer of Edwardsville, and Amy ( Don) Lonergan of Beaufort, SC. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Hogan.
Mike was a Lieutenant for the Illinois Department of Corrections in Jacksonville for many years. After his retirement he moved to Whidbey Island, WA which he called his happy place.
Mike was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and known for his quick wit and sarcasm.
There will be a celebration of life at the Knight of Columbus in Jacksonville on October 1st, tribute from 1-1:30 and open house at 1:30.
In lieu of flowers donations can be may to Island Senior Resources, Freeland,WA.

I am heartbroken to hear or Michael's passing. He put up such a courageous battle and remained a brave soul in the short time I knew him. I hope wherever he ends up, he's checking off his bucket list with a Pepsi in one hand and a chocolate ice cream in the other. My dearest condolences to his trio of rockstar sisters, mother, and other loved ones.

I used to work with Mike at the prison. He was a nice and quiet guy, and he could tell a good joke. I know he will be missed. Condolences and prayers for the family.

Joe and Mike shared many happy moments.
They both liked the Bow, Dungeness crab and many dinner parties.
Mike often baked and brought pumpkin pies.
Mikes favorite was corned beef and cabbage which we had often.
