Nancy Lashmett Obituary

Nancy Carol Lashmett
Winchester - Nancy C. Lashmett, 84, of Winchester, passed away peacefully at home on March 30, 2024.
She was born December 25, 1939, to Albert and Dorothy Coultas. Sharing sixty-three blessed years together prior to his passing in 2022, she married Larry R. Lashmett on August 16, 1959. Together they had three children, Becky Lashmett, Matt (wife, Traci) Lashmett both of Winchester, and Katy Lashmett of St. Louis, all surviving. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Ryan (wife, Danielle) Lashmett and Meghan (husband, Colin) VanDeVelde, both of Winchester, three great-grandchildren, Eden (4), Everly (2), and Aspen (5 months) Lashmett of Winchester, with a fourth great-granddaughter expected to arrive in April.
She attended Winchester Schools and graduated from Winchester High School in 1957. She then attended both MacMurray College and Southern Illinois University with a focus on a teaching degree. Nancy's biggest pride and joy was her family. She selflessly served as a farm wife and homemaker for over sixty years. She was a devoted and active lifetime member of the Winchester United Methodist Church. She very much enjoyed spending time with the Jolly's, a local group of women who would gather together for fellowship. She was on the advisory board at the Scott County Nursing Center and served as a Scott County Election judge for numerous years as well.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Lashmett, her parents, Albert and Dorothy Coultas as well as her brother, Gary 'Gabby' Coultas.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Apr. 6, 2024, at the Daws Family Funeral Home in Winchester with interment in the Winchester City Cemetery. A visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, Apr. 5, 2024, at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to the Scott County Nursing Center, Winchester United Methodist Church Women, or Winchester EMS in Nancy's memory.
