Jacksonville - It is with great joy and gladness that we announce that Nancy (Weygandt, Tate) Stump was recently accepted into Heaven at the invitation of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
On Friday, October 22nd, 2021, she earned her wings and will join both of her parents, her older brother, her husbands, and her youngest son who graduated from this life before her.
Nancy is the latest in a long line of believers to enter Heaven and the joy at her ascension tempers the feelings of loss and grief experienced by her remaining sister, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and Christian brothers and sisters.
While Nancy didn't "earn" her position into Heaven (it was a free gift paid for by the blood of our Christ), her earthly experiences have been a blessing and inspiration to many. During her 80 years on this earth, she traversed the country inspiring others through acts of service and love. Most recently (ok-for over 30 years) Nancy was blessed to serve in ministry at numerous churches in the greater Jacksonville, IL area. Her humble, graceful, and compassionate desire to instill a sense of cooperation instead of competition between groups of believers made her easy to love and welcomed everywhere.
While Nancy will be missed by many, we have no doubt that she will continue to serve the Lord as the fruits of her labor become evident as the seeds she planted on Christ's behalf grow in each of us.
A celebration of life is scheduled for Sunday, October 31st, 2021, at 1:00 PM at the Lynnville Christian Church–Disciples of Christ (LCC). The service will also be live streamed on the LCC Facebook page for those that would like to follow along from home. Immediately following the celebration, family and friends will join the church body in the annual Gleaning of the fields at Gregory farms in Lynnville. Produce collected during the gleaning will be donated to a local food bank.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nancy's name to the Jacksonville Police Citizen's Academy Alumni Association or the Lynnville Christian Church. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is assisting the family. Condolences may be left at buchanancody.com
