Randy Wright Obituary

Randy Lee Wright, 65, of Alexander died Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, peacefully at home in his recliner, surrounded by his family.

He was born June 30, 1955, in Jacksonville, the son of Gail and Peggy (Kearns) Wright, who preceded him in death. He married his teenage sweetheart, Margaret "Marty" Johnson on July 25, 1975, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Franklin, and she survives. They were true life partners.

Together they have three children, Mary Beth (Mark) Hammelman and their children, Megan, Emma and Ryan; Missy (Bill) Naeve and their children, Carter and Grant; and Dustin Wright and his children, Maggie and Susie, and their mother, Madonna.

Randy also is survived by his brother, Rick (Kathy) Wright; his sister, Janet (Billy) Orris; 33 nieces and nephews; and six godchildren. He also was preceded in death by his sister, Connie (Ed) Johnson.

Randy truly had a servant's heart. He could be called on at any time to help anyone. He served as eucharistic minister and lector at Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Alexander. He was past president of the Alexander Businessman Association and a member of the volunteer fire department. He chose to live his life, serving not only the public but his own dad for 45 years in the family business. He passed the craft on to Dustin — three generations working side by side to make people's homes perfect.

After retiring, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and making crafts for his sisters-in-law. He cherished his time visiting Nashville with Marty.

He was a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus and a parishioner at Church of Our Saviour in Jacksonville.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Franklin, with burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Routt Catholic High School. Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left online at Airsman-Hires.com.

Whether it was having his dad and his brother along with him working on our addition, or just seeing him and his wife at the fundraiser auctions in the park. I will always remember him having a smile. Such a pleasant person to be around. I wish he had more time in his recent retirement to do the things he loved.
