Richard Western Obituary
He was born Jan. 2, 1946, in Jacksonville, the son of Amos and Frances Moxon Western.
He is survived by his mother, Frances Western of Jacksonville; his sister, Janet Western of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Amos Western; and two brothers, Steve Western and Kent Western.
Mr. Western was a 1964 graduate of Jacksonville High School and received his degree from the University of Illinois-Champaign in 1968. He served in the U.S. Army-National Guard. Mr. Western was employed in the insurance business before becoming a computer consultant. He served as the house advisor for the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity at the University of Illinois-Champaign for over 40 years.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with burial at Asbury Cemetery. Family will meet friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity at the University of Illinois-Champaign. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
