Richard Wohlers Obituary
Meredosia - Richard Allan Wohlers, 68 of Meredosia, passed away on November 17, 2025. He was born on December 31, 1956, the son of Raymond and Geraldene (Widick) Wohlers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Cheryl Jean, and numerous aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his brother, Don (Mary) Wohlers of Springfield.
Richard grew up on a farm near Chapin, Illinois, a place he loved deeply. He worked for 22 years at the National Starch Plant in Meredosia. He enjoyed many early successes in academics and sports and had a lifelong interest in history and genealogy. He graduated from Meredosia-Chambersburg Schools and earned a degree in Agricultural Economics from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville is assisting the family.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church near Chapin, Illinois, or Donor's Choice.
