Jacksonville - Robert Dean Hubbard, 85, of Jacksonville, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025. He was born on February 29, 1940, the son of Claude and Charlotte Brainard Hubbard, and they both precede him in death.
Surviving is his daughter, Tonya (Mark) Hickerson; several nieces and nephews; special neighbors that became family; and beloved dog, Lola.
In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his four siblings.
Robert was a 1958 graduate of Brown County High School. After graduation, Robert was employed on a river barge on the Illinois River. He later became employed by CIPS where he held several positions before eventual retirement, including Chief Load Dispatcher out of the Beardstown office. Robert loved hunting, golf, music of all kinds, and sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. He was also a member of the Jacksonville Elks Club and a Freemason. Robert never knew a stranger and was generous to a fault. Above all, Robert loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Beardstown, with burial to follow at Beardstown City Cemetery. No visitation will be held prior to services. Memorials are suggested to PAWS of Jacksonville, IL. Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.
