Rusty Rickard Obituary

Rusty Rae Rickard
Ripley - Rusty R. Rickard, 27, of Ripley passed away Saturday, June 28, 2025, in Mt. Sterling. He was born, Aug. 8, 1997, in Jacksonville, the son of Donnie and Nena Merriman Rickard. He married Jessica M. Norton, June 18, 2025.
Surviving is wife, Jessica of Ripley; daughter, Irena Norton; father, Donnie Rickard; mother, Nena Rickard; sister, Racheal (Raymond) Schofield and nieces, Raevyn, Addison and Addilyn Schofield. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Although Rusty was hardheaded and set in his ways, he always knew how to make you smile and could light up any room he walked into. He was a devoted husband, dad, son, brother and friend, to know him, is to love him. For anyone who knew him, knew he had a heart of gold. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Whether it was working on anything with a motor and wheels, to redneck engineering or whatever he could get his hands on, he was your guy. Rusty loved all things country, from fishing, riding ATVs, mudding, and so on. Rusty was from the Bluffs/Naples community. He graduated from Bluffs High School, where he met many of his close friends. Although Rusty's life may have been cut too short, his legacy will live on through the many stories friends and family live to tell. It is no doubt that Rusty will be missed by many, but his jokes, smart comments, sarcasm and always smiling face will forever be cherished by all.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Daws Family Funeral Home in Jacksonville is in charge of arrangements.
