Sherrol "Sherri" Kay Gregory
Concord - Sherrol Kay "Sherri" Gregory, 71, of Concord, Ill., passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.
She was born August 2, 1954, the daughter of Ramon N. and Annette (Morgan) Shaver. On January 1, 2000, she married David Gregory and he survives.
She is also survived by two children, Justin (Robyn) Maher and Vanessa Maher (Connor Carmody); two grandchildren, Lauryn Maher and Maeve Carmody; her brother, Kent (Terri) Shaver; four stepchildren, Chris (Grisel) Gregory, Brock (Bradley) Tyson, Shay (Brian) Magelitz, and Josh Gregory (Kerry Mertis); seven step-grandchildren, Darrian (T.C.) Richards, Isaac Gregory, Drake Gregory (Gretchen Hart), Katie Gregory, Vada Gregory, Sean Magelitz, and Zack Magelitz; and four step-great-grandchildren, Quinn Richards, Aria Richards, Elijah Gregory, and Ka-Mora Gregory. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Sherri graduated from Griggsville High School then afterwards she attended the Blessing School of Radiology where she earned her degree. She worked as an X-Ray Technician at Blessing Hospital, then spent 35 years at Passavant Area Hospital. She was a member of Westfair Baptist Church in Jacksonville where she was active with the Bible Study Groups.
She was a fan of antiquing, sending good morning messages, and being the best Mawmaw and Grandma to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her big heart that she showed to those around her. To her daughter, she was not just a regular mom, she was a cool mom! She loved visiting with friends and is grateful for her time spent with them.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held 12 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Westfair Baptist Church in Jacksonville. The family will meet friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials are suggested to Westfair Baptist Church.
