Jacksonville - Thomas Michael "Mike" Fitzpatrick, 77, of Jacksonville, died Sunday, October 19, 2025, at his home. He was born March 7, 1948, in Jacksonville, the son of Miles F. and Lena M. Maloney Fitzpatrick. He married Patricia Leetham on April 15, 1972, at Church of Our Saviour in Jacksonville, and she survives.
Mike is also survived by his daughter, Michelle York of Jacksonville; two grandchildren, Dominick York and Zander York; three sisters, Alicia (deceased husband, Ronnie) Craigmiles and Mary Ellen (deceased husband, Bob) Gordon, both of Springfield, and Marlena (Patrick) Hayes of Chicago; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John Fitzpatrick and Miles Patrick Fitzpatrick.
Mike graduated from Routt High School in 1966 and served in the United States Army. He worked for many years as a stationary fireman for the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired. Mike was a longtime member of Church of Our Saviour. He loved being out in nature, feeding the birds and squirrels, making his daily social rounds, and supporting the Chicago Cubs. He always enjoyed celebrating his favorite holiday, St. Patrick's day.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Church of Our Saviour in Jacksonville, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Jacksonville. A prayer service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Williamson Funeral Home, where the family will meet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorials are suggested for masses or to Routt Catholic High School.
