Marie Diane Burdo

Jaffrey, NH- Marie Diane Burdo, 80, of Oxbow Road in Hinsdale, died peacefully, Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at the Jaffrey Rehabilitation & Nursing Center following a period of declining health. Affectionately known as "Diane", she was born in Northampton, Mass on October 21, 1944, the daughter of Wilfred and Stella (Burke) Challet. She was raised and educated in Northampton where she attended Saint Michael's Parochial School. A faithful and devoted homemaker, her life centered around her family and she especially enjoyed time shared with her grandchildren. Diane was an avid reader and of her other pastimes and interests, she enjoyed travel, taking day trips throughout the tri-state area and antiquing. On March 8, 1964, in New York, she was married to Donald J. Burdo, Sr. who predeceased her on February 10, 2004. Survivors include her three children, sons, Donald Burdo, Jr. of Keene and James Burdo of Hinsdale; a daughter, Brenda Doyle of Orange, MA; one brother, Phillip Challet of Worthington, MA; three sisters, Elaine Laramie of CA, Linda Dunton of NH and Delores Sankey of Northampton. Additionally, she leaves five grandchildren, one great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, Wilfred Challet, Jr. and two sisters, Joanne Bushey and Rosalie Benoit. Graveside committal services will be conducted Thursday, 8/7, at 11 A.M. in Pine Grove Cemetery in Hinsdale. Friends and family are invited to call at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home on Wednesday afternoon from 5 to 7 P.M.
