Paul Schrepta Obituary

Paul L. Schrepta, 85, of Westmoreland, and formerly of East Swanzey, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025. He was born on March 10, 1939 in Keene, attended local schools and graduated from Keene High School in the class of 1957. He married the love of his life, Alice Daniels, in June of 1959 and they were inseparable until her death in 2008. Paul was a jack-of-all trades, but he was especially gifted with skills in sheet metal fabrication. For over 30 years, he and his wife owned and operated Alpine Sheet Metal in East Swanzey. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed all kinds of music. Paul especially enjoyed playing the guitar, driving his 1931 Model A pick-up and watching General Hospital. He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Gina Paight and her husband Wade, of Marlborough, and his grandchildren, Zachary Paight and Heather Paight, also of Marlborough. There will be no calling hours. A private service will be held in the spring. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Maplewood Nursing Home for their wonderful care. All services are under the care of Cheshire Family Funeral Home, Chapel, and Crematories. www.cheshirefamilyfh.com.

Paul and Alice were my mother's very best friends for many years, and when I came along in 1982 they were excited to have a "little Sylivia" to share adventures with. Much of my fondest childhood memories are of spending time at their home, marveling at their work-ethic and incredible shared sense of humor. I'll never forget playing electronic darts with Paul in the workshop, although we never did agree about who won. We danced to old music by The Ventures, we went ice fishing, and I always knew I was part of something special when I was spending time with the Schreptas. Gina and family, you are in my prayers--- how proud your father was of you! My comfort is the thought of him being reunited with Alice, his true other half--and imagining them and my mother playing a spirited game of cards and reminiscing about the good old times, far away where age, illness and death have no sting.
There was nothing Paul couldn't fix---his ingenuity was to be admired. He will be sorely missed and permanently loved and remembered.
