Roger Demers, age 76, left this world to go home to his Father in heaven on September 12th, 2024 after a ten-year battle with ALS. He was a beloved father, husband, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Roger was born in July 1948 in Canada. He graduated from St. Marie’s High School and went on to work at Uncle Bob’s Supermarket and McDevitt Companies/Mack Trucks from which he retired after 27 years. He loved traveling extensively with his wife and daughters.
Devoted to his faith, Roger was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and St. Anthony of Padua in Manchester, where he volunteered to help when he could, and more recently, St. Pius X Church. Above all, Roger was a devoted husband and father who loved his wife, children and grandchildren very much. He was always there to offer them guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Virginia; his children, Stephanie and Jaime, and his grandchildren, Samantha and Benjamin. He also leaves his siblings, Michel (Francine), Aline, Denise (Bob), and Suzanne. He was recently predeceased by his sister, Rita. The family would like to give a special thank you to Lynda, from the Visiting Angels, who worked diligently and compassionately with Roger for the past four years. She has been a God Send to our family. The staff at Amedisys Hospice Care have also been absolutely wonderful.
