Billy Locklear
PEMBROKE — Mr. Billy Locklear, 72, of 23 Britton Farm Road, Pembroke, died Aug. 15, 2014.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Airy Baptist Church, the Rev. Steve Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Airy Church cemetery.
Mr. Locklear was born in Robeson County on June 22, 1942. He is the son of the late Mr. Braxton and Mrs. Mary O. Locklear.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Clara B. Locklear; a son, Mr. David Locklear; a stepdaughter, Ms. Deena Lowery; three brothers, Mr. Colonel Locklear, Mr. Monson Locklear, and Mr. Harlie W. Locklear; and five sisters, Mrs. Viola Hunt, Mrs. Quessie M. Locklear, Mrs. Reola Locklear, Mrs. Blue Bell Lancaster, and Mrs. Mattie Bell Locklear.
Mr. Locklear is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Locklear of the home; three sons, Mr. Dwight Oxendine and Mr. Keith (Dee) Oxendine of Pembroke and Mr. Steve Locklear of the home; two stepsons, Mr. Calvin Ray Lowery and Mr. Raymond Curtis Lowery of Pembroke; five sisters, Mrs. Winnie L. Jones, Mrs. Mary Lee Locklear, Mrs. Reedy Oxendine, Mrs. Jan Locklear, and Mrs. Lenora Locklear; six brothers: Mr. Spencer Locklear, Mr. Hubert Lee Locklear, Mr. James Earl Locklear, Mr. Charles Locklear, Mr. Wayne Locklear and Mr. Early B. Locklear; his grandchildren, Telisha Oxendine and Brandon Oxendine and their mother, Ms. Stella "Sissy" Oxendine, Jessica Cummings, Ryan Oxendine and Arica Oxendine; his stepgrandsons, Ricky Norris, Steven Locklear and Shane L. Lowery; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
