Thomas Moser Obituary
Thomas Moser, 64, of Inverness, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, August, 15, 2013, at home.
He was born on July 13, 1949, to Robert and Alice Moser in Two Rivers, Wisconsin.
Tom will be celebrated as a loving husband, devoted father, silly Bopa and a respected, integrity- driven counselor to the many lives he touched professionally and personally.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sally; children, Shannon (Emilio) Serrato, Todd (Christiana) Moser, and Tara (fiancé Tyler Inge) Moser; grandchildren, Taylor and Claire Moser; brothers, Bob (Harmony) Moser, and Tim (Sandy Riebe) Moser; sister, Mary Moser; and mother-in-law, Cheryl Skutley.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Pete Skutley, and his parents, Robert and Alice Moser.
Memorial visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m., Sunday, August 18, 2013. Memorial service will be held at 11a.m., Monday, August 19, 2013. Memorial visitation and service will be held in the Chapel (building B), at Willow Creek Community Church, 67 E. Algonquin Road, South Barrington, IL 60010.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Children's Heart Foundation, www.childrensheartfoundation.org, or to Willow Creek Community Church, www.willowcreek.org, or to Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, www.remf.org.

I will never forget the first time I met Tom at an introductory meeting for potential new planners. He was pretending to read a newspaper in the men's room while at the same time listening to what the new planners were saying about the possibility of working for IDS. I thought it was a brilliant way to hear some unguarded comments from people who might eventually end up working for him. Over the years I had the immense pleasure of working with Tom and learned how to become a much better public speaker. Even though we eventually went our separate ways I always referred to him as one of the most talented individuals I had the pleasure of knowing. I was stunned and deeply saddened by his passing but I know that he left a deep impact on many lives and will be sorely missed.

I first met tom at the gold team conf in chaska. He helped me over the years more than I can anyone could have imagined. I am so sorry I just heard thw news and didnt get to come to his funeral.

Dearest Sally and Family, today I got a call from Gary Knoke saying that someone that had Ameriprise was told about Tom. We are truly shocked. So I went Online and found the obit. We are so truly sorry and our heartfelt love and prayers go out to you. We had so many great memories--laughs, hugs, cries, birth of Shannon etc. Please let us know if we can do anything or even come down to see you. I saddened to learn about Tom's passing at a conference this past week. I met Tom at the 1992 Design Team and had the utmost respect for his abilities and character. My sincerest condolences to Sally, Shannon, Todd and Tara. He touched so many lives. His legacy will continue.

To Sally and family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. My life would have been very different if not for Tom, so I'll never forget him. Not only was he a great mentor - he was a lot of fun. I remember the gatherings at the trailer, the infamous birthday, the great district outings, and on and on. May your wonderful memories sustain you.

Tom, was kind to me!
Tom, was friendly and helpful!
Tom, was creative and an excellent fellow advisor!
Tom, was on the same path as I most of our career paths!
We became advisors that cared deeply for our clients success together!
We became leaders that cared deeply for the advisors we lead together!
We stayed loyal to our clients, advisors we helped while keeping the team we called a company together!
We became advanced advisors and advanced leaders together!
We both decided to build very strong advice teams over the same years!
I still see Tom chatting with about how we could both improve our systems!
I still feel the warm smile that Tom often had as we focused on enhancing our clients experience!
I still am very thankful for all the positive influence Tom had on my business and life!
I still am sad to know that Tom died suddenly by a heart attack!
I will miss Tom as the wonderful person that influenced me!
I will remember Tom as the man that shared the same passion to help people!

To Tom's family,
Tom went out of his way to come down to St Louis and help me with giving seminars. He had a huge impact on our business and I'll never forget how giving he was with his time. I was shocked when I heard the news of Tom's passing. I didn't know him well but he was the first trainer I had at IDS/Ameriprise 22 years ago. Although we weren't in the same circles he never forgot who I was and always said hello. I have the upmost respect for him, he will be very much missed, a class, class act. Tom was an esteemed colleague of mine. I met Tom when I joined Ameriprise 20 years ago. He mentored me on my presentation skills. He was always willing to help other advisors. He was a pros pro. He will be greatly missed. I will certainly keep him and the entire Moser family in my prayers.
