Alex Allen Lopez

1950 - 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alex Lopez on December 6, 2025, in Lubbock, TX. Funeral Services will be private at the family's request, under the supervision of Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview.

Alex was born on May 23, 1950, in Schwertner, Texas, to Ramon Lopez and Ruth "Cuca" Antu Lopez. On March 9, 1999, at First Assembly in Plainview, TX, he married Teena Guerra, the love of his life. Their journey together began in February 1975 and blossomed over the years into a deeply devoted, lifelong partnership.

Alex was a decorated Army veteran who served his country with pride. A true jack-of-all-trades, he excelled in mechanical work and home construction. His passion for woodworking inspired him to craft treasured pieces for his children. Known for his wit, Alex loved engaging in lively banter and debates with family and friends. He also found great enjoyment in watching boxing on television.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Teena Lopez of Plainview, TX; his children, Darick Gonzales of Andrews, TX, Trudy Gonzales of Amarillo, TX, Jerome Gonzales of Lockney, TX, Selena Lewis of Phoenix, AZ, Raymond Lopez of Lubbock, TX, and Joshua Lopez of Plainview, TX; his sisters, Christina Lopez Pena (Roy) of Belton, TX, Cookie (Louisa) (Paul) Martinez of Farmington, NM, Diane (Lewis) Martinez of Plainview, TX; his brothers, Ringo (Beth) Lopez of Albuquerque, NM, and Rudy (Ramona) Lopez of Phoenix, AZ, twelve grandchildren, nine great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alex is preceded in death by his parents, Ramon Lopez and Ruth "Cuca" Antu Lopez; his brother, Raymond Lopez Jr.; and his sister, Erma Lopez.
