Charlie Parker Obituary

Charlie Britton Parker SILVERTON - Charlie Britton Parker, age 84, of Silverton passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014, in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at the Silverton Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Moore Rose Funeral Home in Quitaque. Charlie was born on May 14, 1929, in Silverton to Alfred and Opal (McGowen) Parker. Charlie was a veteran of the Korean War Army Artillery. He was a lifelong resident of Silverton, 33rd Degree Mason, past master, a member of the Silverton Lodge, and former member of the Silverton Fire Department. Charlie was a gifted mechanic. He was always available to help. Charlie is survived by his son Brit and wife Virginia Parker; a daughter, Susie and husband Gerald Yarbrough; a brother Ray and wife Becky Watley; three grandchildren, Randi Parker, Sarah and husband Ian Rook, and Hanna Yarbrough; a great-granddaughter, Marylin Rook; and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fern Parker; a granddaughter, Jeri Parker, and son-in-law, Marvin Perry. In honor of Charlie, memorials may be made to the Silverton Cemetery, Fire Department or EMS. Online condolences may be made at www.moore-rose.com.
