Jane Owen Obituary

Jane Carol Owen, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on January 15, 1935, Jane lived a life full of love, laughter, and grace.

Jane's enduring love story began with her marriage to Ken Owen, with whom she shared a remarkable 67 years of companionship. Together, they built a life rich in joy and mutual respect. Her family was her greatest pride and joy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Ray Brown. She is survived by her two children, Steve and Ann, her beloved grandchildren, Katie and Lauren, her sister Katherine Lowe, her brother-in-law George Lowe, and her daughter-in-law Leah Hargrave Owen.

Jane was known for her kindness, strength, and elegance and her love for God. Her small structure belied a tremendous spirit, and her beauty was matched only by her intelligence and sense of humor. Jane had an innate ability to make those around her feel cherished and valued, and her parties were legendary for their warmth and delicious fare.

An exceptional cook and an impeccable host, Jane had a unique talent for bringing people together. Her home was a haven of comfort and camaraderie, where friends and family gathered to enjoy her delightful meals and engaging conversations.

Her legacy is one of love and devotion to her family and her faith in Jesus Christ. Jane Owen will be remembered for her unwavering love, her incredible strength, and her graciousness to everyone. She leaves behind a void that will be felt deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of Jane's life will be held at Plainview Country Club in Plainview, Texas on September 7, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice Austin* (in memory of Jane Owen), reflecting Jane's generous spirit and love for helping others.
