Laton M. Curry Laton M. Curry, 47, of Plainview passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2009, in Plainview. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Raymundo Manriquez officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation for family and friends will be from 6-7 p.m. today, and a Rosary will be held starting at 7 p.m. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Laton was born Sept. 20, 1961, in Plainview to J Frank and Jeanette Curry. He grew up in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School in 1980. He attended and graduated from West Texas State University in 1986 with a degree in geology. He married Rose Garcia on Sept. 2, 1989, in Olton, Texas. He went to work for Wal-Mart Distribution where he worked for 19 years. He was an operational manager. He then went to work for Tractor Supply Company in Plainview and served the Lubbock store as an assistant manager. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where he served with the Crusillistas and as a Eucharist minister and reader. He also helped with the youth on Wednesday evenings. He was a wonderful husband and father, great listener and a counselor. He was preceded in death by his father, J Frank Curry, on May 2, 2007. Survivors include his wife, Rose Curry of Plainview; son, Matthew J Curry of Plainview; mother, Jeanette Curry of Plainview; two brothers, Keith Curry of Houston and Steven Curry of Omaha, Neb.; maternal grandmother, Mildred Robertson of Haskell, Texas; and several nieces and nephews that he loved like his own children.
