Pat Gabriel Obituary

Patricia "Pat" Cohlmia Gabriel, went home to be with the Lord on December 28, 2023, surrounded by her beloved family. Born in Buffalo, OK on June 17, 1939 to Tom and Genieve Cohlmia, she embarked on a life journey that touched the lives of many.

Pat's formative years were spent in Wichita, Kansas, where she attended and graduated from West High School. She went on to graduate from Colorado Women's College in Denver. In 1961, Pat married the love of her life, Frank Gabriel, beginning a beautiful partnership that lasted over six decades. For over 40 years they lived in Plainview, Texas where they reared their children and made a significant contribution to the community.

Throughout her life, Pat's commitment to service was evident. She served as the past president of the Plainview Junior Service League, was an active member of PEO, and held leadership roles in various organizations including the Gamma Delphin study club and the High Rise Investment Club, leaving an indelible mark on each. Among her many hobbies, Pat enjoyed playing bridge, traveling and preparing meals that brought the family together. Her greatest joy came from spending time with Frank and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survived by her devoted husband, Frank, Pat is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Kimberly Dominy, and husband David Dominy; her son Dr. Brent Gabriel and wife Leah Kay Gabriel, her brother, Dr. Mike Cohlmia and wife Garland, and her brother Dr. Greg Cohlmia and his significant other, Jennifer Rush. Her legacy also lives on through her grandchildren: Drake Dominy and wife Phoebe, Dalton Dominy and wife Claire, Kirstyn Duncan and husband Christopher, Madison Homra, Garrett Gabriel, and Olivia Gabriel and seven great-grandchildren.

Pat's life was not without loss, as she mourned the passing of her daughter, Stacey Homra, her son-in-law Allen Homra, and her grandson Trey Homra.

Her unwavering faith was reflected in her active participation in the life of the church community. From her years at First Methodist Church in Plainview to her membership at White's Chapel Methodist Church in Southlake, TX, and service as a Stephen Minister, Pat's love for the Lord was displayed through her selfless acts of service to others.

Pat consistently exuded elegance, always the epitome of grace and beauty in any gathering, but even greater than her outward appearance was her inner beauty consisting of her kind and generous heart and her unwavering love and dedication to family and friends. Her spirit lives on through the countless lives she touched, and her memory will continue to inspire acts of kindness and love for generations to come.

A celebration of Pat's life will take place on Saturday, January 6 at 11:00am at White's Chapel Methodist Church in Southlake, TX, where friends and family will gather to honor her legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to White's Chapel Methodist Church (185 S. White Chapel Blvd. Southlake, TX 76092) in Pat's memory.
