Rebecca Ela Lopez Mendoza WACO - Rebecca Ela Lopez Mendoza of Waco passed away Sept. 18, 2013 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. The family will receive visitors Friday, Sept. 20 from 6-8 p.m. at Pecan Grove Funeral Home 3124 Robinson Dr. Waco, TX. 76706. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at the funeral home. She was a loving and caring wife, daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. On Sept. 30, 1960, she married the love of her life Andrew Mendoza Jr. in Plainview, Texas. She had three sons Andy, Gilbert and Robert. She loved her flowers and plants. She enjoyed crocheting. Her grandchildren meant the world to her. She enjoyed living a simple life. Rebecca was born Nov. 28, 1932 in Matamoros, Tamaulipas Mexico. She received her U.S. citizenship in September 1968. She came to United States at the age of 12 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnulfo M. Lopez and Susana Lopez; and sisters Anita Lopez Carter and Bertha Lopez Rogers. She is survived by loving husband Andrew Mendoza Jr. of 52 years of marriage. They had three sons, Andrew Mendoza III and son Elijah Rene'; Gilbert Mendoza and wife Cynthia V. Mendoza, daughters Giselle and Joanna, great-grandchildren Lexi Mendoza Garcia and Jesse Garcia Mendoza; and Robert Mendoza and wife Donna, sons Robbie, Jarrett and Chris Pecina, and great-grandchild Rylie Mendoza. She is also survived by her sisters Ruth and husband Benny Mitchell, Noemi and husband Joe Cavazos, Rachel and husband Joe Camargo, Esther and husband Sone Monroe, Ofelia Lopez, Elizabeth Richardson, and one bother Arnold Lopez.
