Al was my Dear Friend and I thought of him as my brother. I treasure the memories of our times both on and off the stage. His warm and loving spirit was always felt by me when we shared time together. His humor was something to behold, Haha. Always creative in his thoughts and playing, which made him very popular in the recording studio. His humor helped to keep attitudes loose in the studio as well.
I could write all day and still not find the lines to express all my about Al, but I can say that he was both Loved and respected By me.

2 years ago... I physically lost an inspiration of love an laughter, but you continue to live on in my mind. When I get tired the phrase "I'm so t-i-r-d tired, I could f-a-r-t faint" comes across my lips I smile, get tears in my eyes, and my heart hurts a little because I instantly reflect back to our trip together. You talked so quickly and so full of life. Cracked "dad" jokes all the time which I love and hugged me everytime like you hadn't seen me in forever. I lost a grandpa... but gained so many amazing memories that will live on forever. Every time my birthday comes and goes... I get sad.. knowing I won't ever hear you sing me happy birthday again, but I can still hear your voice and listen to your guitar play in my mind... I love you, grandpa al. I miss you. I'm sure you are in heaven playing your beautiful music and entertaining the others with your humor. Rest in peace. You will never be forgotten.

Al certainly was the consummate Musician/Guitarist, but his personality was the attribute that drew people to him. A true talent, but an even better Human.
I miss our visits, the music and the hugs. RIP my Dear Friend.
