BRITTONS NECK | Amy Louise Howard Lewis, 62, wife of Harold R. Lewis, formerly of Ann Arbor, Mich., died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003.

She was born in Georgetown, a daughter of the late Charles Kendrick Howard Sr. and Zelma Louise Mize Howard.

She was very active in Chapter 890 of the Loyal Women of Moose and volunteered 20 years of service to Lodge 1253 of the Loyal Order of Moose in Ann Arbor and 18 years to the Michigan Moose Association.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three children, Walter Nicholas Bieber of Hartland, Mich., and Kimberly Grimes and Jay Bieber, both of Myrtle Beach; two brothers, Charles K. Howard Jr. and Daniel E. Howard Sr. and his wife, Kay, both of Florence; a sister, Brenda Thompson and her husband, Danny, of Oakboro, N.C.; five grandchildren, Nichole Bieber, Tracie Bieber, Walter N. Bieber IV, Katie Bieber and Logan Bieber; and 11 aunts and uncles, Gaynell Cumbie, Mary Alford and her husband, John, Violet Strong and her husband, Bobby, and Perry Howard and his wife, Alberta, all of Andrews, Emily Tanner of Pleasant Hill, Ruby Howard of McColl, Audria Holliday of Georgetown and Betty Jo Pearson of Lincolnton, Ga.

She was predeceased by a grandson, Julio Abdellatif; and a brother, Alex Howard.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Morris Funeral Home in Hemingway.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel.
