Cecil Chandler Obituary
Mr. Chandler was born in Darlington, a son of the late Dan and Hattie Suggs Chandler.
Cecil served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and then went to work for Sonoco, where he retired after 40 years of service.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Sonoco Old Timers Club and Brockington Hunt Club. Mr. Chandler was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Sylvia Suggs Chandler of the home; two sons, Cecil (Debra) Chandler of Surfside Beach and Mike (Tracey) Chandler of Columbia; two daughters, Debbie Baker and Angie Chandler, both of Darlington; four grandchildren, Jeff Chandler, Michael Chandler, Monica Chandler and Dale Baker; and an aunt, Hazel Rose.
Mr. Chandler was preceded in death by a brother, Dan Chandler; and a sister, Winnie Chandler.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2006 in the Chapel of Belk Funeral Home, with interment following in Darlington Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2006 at Belk Funeral Home.
