I know Mr. Gramling as someone who prayed for me by name, just because I am Richard and Pearline's grandchild. That faith has made an impact on me through the years. What an inspiration! And, what rejoicing there was in Heaven when this faithful man arrived! I know my Papa is sad to let his dear friend go.

Sorry to hear about the passing of Clarence Gramling. Early on, Mr. Gramling was one of the friendliest people whom I got to know while growing up in Moncks Corner. Later on, he was especially helpful to me during the last decade when both my father and afterwards my mother passed. I guess all the original warriors from Santee Cooper are fading away. Once again, my condolences to all of Mr. Gramling's friends and relatives.

I am so sorry I was not able to go to Orangeburg for the burial, as there was not time to speak to you at the funeral. I have enjoyed spending time with Clarence the past few years at the Champy reunions, until he went into the Bridges. I had a pleasant visit with him several weeks ago, for which I am grateful.

Words can not express the respect and admiration that I had for Mr. Gramling.
I sent him a valentine in February and when I did not get a call thanking me, I knew he must be sick.
He blessed each community and the people of the area whereever he lived and served.
I thank God for sending Mr. Gramling to Santee Cooper and into my life in 1967.

I am truly sorry and sad to hear of Mr. Gramling passing. I had the pleasure of working under him from 1971 until his retirement from Santee Cooper. He was fair and a great man of leadership. My condolences go to his family and friends. He will be missed.

I met Clarence after becoming friends with his son Dennis. I've been friends with Clarence and his family for many years. I feel like a son to him because of all the wisdom he has poured into my life. Clarence always gave good advice. He also had a full life of great stories and most of them were filled with pride that he had in his family. The man knew how to love. I will miss him until I see him again.

I am sad at Mr Gramling's passing and grateful to have known him and worked for him. He was always a gentleman, friendly, courteous, respectful and willing to smile and laugh. I still have the birthday wishes written by him on his memo paper. I treasure them. Whenever I would see him in Sam's or the grocery store, we would hug and catch up, what a wonderful person that lived his faith.. I will miss him and am grateful for his influence in my life.
