David Cook Obituary

David E. "CB" Cook
June 9, 1940-August 5, 2011
Murrells Inlet
David E. "CB" Cook, 71, died Friday August 5, 2011 at his residence.
Mr. Cook was born in Camden, S.C., to the late Eddie and Margaret Cook on June 9, 1940.
Mr. Cook is survived by his son, Joseph D. Cook and wife, Janie of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Mallia Shumaker Cook of Asheville, N.C.; three grandchildren, Walker and Ali Shumaker and "AJ" Cook.
"CB" moved to the Murrells Inlet area more then 25 years ago, and was an active business owner in the community. With a gregarious personality, endless optimism and hard work, he was successful in business, but his biggest accomplishment was the accumulation of many friends met during his business career. "CB" never met a stranger and his ever present smile will be missed most of all. He was supportive of his family, always bragging on his grandchildren, and was dearly loved by them all.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2011 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.
An online guest book is available at www.goldfinchfuneralhome.com.
Goldfinch Funeral Home Beach Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
