Gail Blanton Obituary

Green Sea
Frances Gail Blanton, 65, of Green Sea, died Thursday, July 2, 2015 at McLeod Regional Medical Center, after an illness. She passed away with her loving family by her side, and is once again with her precious son, Benji.
Mrs. Blanton was the daughter of the late Frank Jackson and Eugenia Suggs Jackson. She was a school teacher for 28 years, and an avid GSF Trojan fan. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her Gal Pals.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Benji Blanton.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Randy; her daughter, Jill Ard (Banning) and her two grandchildren, Eli and Emma Cate, all of Pamplico; seven siblings, Billy Jackson (Donna) of Goose Creek, Danny Jackson, Cindy Jackson, and Steve Jackson, all of Tabor City, NC, Ken Jackson of Keavy, KY, Dennis Todd of Winder, GA, and Donald Todd of Cayce, SC; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, July 4, 2015 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 5th in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Blanton Cemetery in Nichols.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be made to the Benji Blanton Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 256, Green Sea, S.C. 29545.

Very sorry to hear of the passing of one of my old school teachers from Mullins High. Mrs. Blanton was always willing to go the extra mile with us when we had problems and I am sure she will be sorely missed. My condolences to the family.

Mrs. Gail was a one of a kind teacher to me as a kid. I always hated math but, with her as my teacher, I somehow managed to learn it anyway. She was always there with a kind word.

Mrs Gail was an incredible person, an unforgettable friend, and an inspiration to anyone who encountered her. She will live forever in the hearts of those who loved her. I thank God for allowing my dash and hers to coincide. The reunion that took place when she stepped into paradise yesterday was a sight to behold, I have no doubt.
