Geraldine M. Brown

MANSFIELD, Conn. | Geraldine M. Brown died Saturday, September 20, 2008 in Mansfield, Conn., after a battle with cancer.

She was born October 21, 1918 in Albany, N.Y. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Lyman E. Brown, April 11, 1943 in Sheldon Springs, Vt.

She attended the Pittsfield High School, Mass., and the Bishop DeGoesbriand School of Nursing, Burlington, Vt. Mrs. Brown was a registered nurse for over 60 years at various hospitals in Indiana, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Vermont.

She attended church at St. Thomas Aquinas, in Storrs, Conn., St. Andrew Catholic Church in Myrtle Beach, and St. Charles Borromeo in Ft. Wayne, Ind.

Surviving Mrs. Brown are her son, Todd Brown and wife, Debra Brown; grandson, David Brown; granddaughter, Jennifer Brown; brothers, Donald and Gerald McConkey; sister-in-law, Joan McConkey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be crelebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2008 in St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel, University of Connecticut, Storrs, Conn. A private interment will take place at a future date in Covington Memorial Gardens, Ft. Wayne, Ind.
