James Thomas Obituary
MARION
James Claude "Jimmy" Thomas, 65, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Waccamaw Hospital after an illness. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, September 10, 2012 at Marion Presbyterian Church, followed by entombment at Palmetto Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum. The family will receive friends after the entombment at Richardson Funeral Home.
Mr. Thomas was born in Marion, on December 31, 1946, a son of the late Edward James Thomas and Helen Skipper Thomas. He was a graduate of Marion High School and attended Baptist College. Jimmy served in the US Army Reserves, was a member of Marion Presbyterian Church, and was very active in the community. He worked in the family business, Thomas Supply Company and J. Thomas Real Estate.
Surviving are his wife, Melba Hutchinson Thomas, of the home; daughter, Mandy Thomas Davis and husband, Tony Davis of Murrells Inlet, SC, Cambar Thomas Flowers and fiance¢, Timmy Rogers of Surfside Beach, SC; son, Chris Fox and wife, Michelle of Browns-Summit, NC; sister Pam Thomas Skipper of Marion, SC. Jimmy was the devoted grandfather of seven grandchildren, Allie and Gracie Zeman, Olivia and Grant Davis; Cody, Lucas, and Jake Fox.
Precious memories of Jimmy's passion for life, love for his family, and humorous spirit will continue to live in the hearts of his loved ones for years to come

Melba, I just learned of Jimmy's passing this morning. Unfortunately my schedule will not allow me to make it to the service this afternoon, but you and your family are in our prayers. I was just sharing some old memories of Jimmy with Tim Pogue a few weeks ago. I will miss my honorary frat brother.
