John Robert "Jack" Wicklein, age 79, of Sunset Beach, NC, passed away
peacefully in the early morning of June 23.
Jack was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Silver Spring, MD. He
later resided in Ellicott City, MD before retiring to Sunset Beach, NC.
He was an avid golfer and a lifelong fan of the Washington Redskins. He graduated from the University of Maryland and enjoyed a successful career with the federal government followed by a second career as an executive in the software industry.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Wicklein, of Sunset Beach, NC; his
daughter, Megan Lowe and her husband Ben, of Arnold, MD; son, Vince
O'Brien and his wife, Susie, of Tarpon Springs, FL; 6 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Leslie Carol Wicklein and his brothers, Blaine M. and Lester C. Wicklein.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be
made to: Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1414 Physicians Drive
Wilmington, NC 28401-7335.

Tom and Kathleen Lowe, Megan's father in law and step mother in law, send prayers for the family. Jack was a strong presence in the family and will be missed by all. We wrap our arms around Evonne and Megan and Ben as they mourne his passing. With love, we wish for Peace for everyone. Tom and Kathy

It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of our Brother, John Robert Wicklein. We wish for him everlasting life and well-deserved peace as a member of the Chapter Eternal of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity.

Jack was a close friend to many of us and he will be missed. His sense of humor and positive outlook on life were an inspiration to all of us. Our sincere condolences to Jack's family in this time of sorrow.
