Katherine Burleson Obituary

ALBEMARLE, N.C. | Katherine Elizabeth Anderson Burleson, 85, died Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at N.C. Lutheran Nursing Home.

Katherine was born April 3, 1921 in Union County, N.C., a daughter of the late Edward Corbett Anderson and the late LuNell Clark Anderson.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Burleson; and sister, Ruby Still.

Katherine was the owner/operator of Dixie Restaurant.

Surviving are two sons, Larry Burleson and wife, Brenda, of Mount Gilead, N.C. and James Michael ''Mickey'' Burleson and wife, Linda, of Myrtle Beach; daughter, Saundra Burleson Atkinson of Columbia; seven grandchildren, David Atkinson, Kathi Cooley, Melissa McAbee, Scott Burleson, Becky Inami, Barrett Burleson and Susanna Keck; sister, Wayne Sharkey of Waxhaw, N.C.; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral is 4 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2006 at Main Street United Methodist Church, with the Rev. David Rorie officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Park, Albemarle, N.C.
