Little River
Luther Judson "Alex" Hester, age 83, died on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. He was born in McColl, SC to the late Howard and Martha Hester.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Caroline Hester, a daughter Kelly Hester, and a granddaughter Caroline Durham. Surviving him also is his brother Gene Hester and is predeceased by his brother Howard Jr. "Sonny" Hester, Robert Hester, and a sister Gloria Jean Hester.
A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, August 29th, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Little River United Methodist Church with Rev. W. Russell Freeman, Sr. and Rev. Joanne Lockard-Hawkins officiating.
The family will receive friends after the service at the church.
Memorials can be made to the Little River United Methodist Church, 1629 Hwy. 17, Little River, SC 29566 or to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O. Box 98018, Washington, DC, 20090-8018.

A kind and wonderful man. I got to know him when I worked for Horry Assessors Office in the Mapping Department. He and my supervisor, Eddie Batten were former work mates. Peace and comfort to his wife and their family.

So sorry to hear about your brothers passing. Didn't know him but you and I worked together at Strand Chevrolet many years ago. Wow, where did the years go so quickly? I know your brother will be missed by family and those who knew him. May God give you peace and comfort your hearts during this time of sorrow and always is my prayer.
