Malcolm Jordan Obituary



GALIVANTS FERRY | Mr. Malcolm Monroe Jordan, 89, widower of Margaret White Jordan, died Thursday, April 7, 2005 at Carolinas Hospital System in Florence after an illness.



Mr. Jordan was born Aug. 29, 1915 in Horry County, a son of the late Cordie Bradley Jordan and the late Pearl Lee Gore Jordan. Mr. Jordan was a retired farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II. He was a member of the Aynor American Legion. Mr. Jordan was a member of Aynor United Methodist Church.



Surviving Mr. Jordan are a daughter, Diane Jordan Welsh and her husband Michael Francis, of Florence; two sons, James Malcolm and his wife Lynn Frye, and David Earl and his wife Diana Stroud, all of of Galivants Ferry; seven granddaughters, Robin, Jordi, Rheney, Shay, Carla, Stephanie, and Ginny; a grandson, James; a great-grandson, Arthur Rabon; two brothers, Asa B. Jordan and William B. Jordan, both of Galivants Ferry; and two sisters, Hilda J. Dawsey of Gastonia, N.C. and Helen Editha J. Robbins of Florence.



Mr. Jordan was predeceased by four brothers and a sister, C.B. Jordan Jr., James Osgood Jordan, Edna Earle J. Ikner, Clifton Ansel Jordan, and Jack Miles Jordan.



Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at Aynor United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dennis J. Mardis officiating. Burial will follow in Aynor Cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
