Mary Pierce Obituary



GEORGETOWN | Mary White Pierce, 83, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.



Mrs. Pierce was born in Bladenboro, N.C. on Sept. 16, 1921, a daughter of the late Asa Clark White and Emma Idell Ward White. She grew up in Bladenboro and lived in Georgetown since 1947. Mrs. Pierce was a devoted Christian and loving mother and a member of Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church for fifty-five years. She was the widow of Samuel Morton Pierce Sr.



Surviving are, a son, Samuel M. Pierce, Jr. of Georgetown; a daughter, Shasta P. Brewer of McConnells; two brothers, Hutch White of Southport, N.C. and Hull White of Clarkton, N.C.; three sisters, Emma Register of Nakina, N.C., Beulah Maynard of Elizabethtown, N.C., and Marcia Thompson of N. Myrtle Beach; and four grandchildren, Andrew Brewer, Rose Brewer, and Stephen Brewer, all of McConnells, and Austin Pierce of York.



Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday afternoon, Nov. 29, at Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Clide E. Glover. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home, Sunday afternoon, Nov. 28, from 2 to 4 p.m.
