Michael James Albin 66, known by friends as Mikee, always with a smile and a heart of gold passed away on Monday, June 11, 2012. Mr. Albin was pre-deceased by his grandparents Mike and Mary Leshok.
Mr. Albin was born in Somerset, PA., the son of John and Helen Albin. He graduated from Somerset High School and was retired from the US Air Force. Mikee was retired in 1983 from the Myrtle Beach AF base, served two tours in Vietnam, founder of Mikee's Ice Cream in 1984, previous owner of Fat Jacks Lounge in Surfside Beach, and current owner of Putters Restaurant and Lounge in Socastee.
Survivors include a mother, Helen Kerch of Mechanicsburg, PA; son; Joseph Thomas Albin (Cornelia) of Germany, daughter; Mickey Albin of Myrtle Beach; grand children Ryan and Dalton Jonas of Myrtle Beach and Joline Elisabeth Albin of Germany; sister, Sandra Blust of Mechanicsburg, PA; brother, Frank (Ginger) Kerch of Shippensburg, Pa; Uncle Bill and Aunt Kash of Boswell, PA.
Visitations will be held from 2:00-3:00 PM, Thursday, June 14, 2012 with a Memorial Service at 3:00 PM at The Grand Strand Funeral Home and Crematory.
Memorials may be sent to The Human Society of Myrtle Beach.

Mikee was a beautiful spirit and will continue to shine in our memories. Mikee always had a warm smile and greeting, no matter when or where you saw him. Earth is short an angel and heaven has gained one. Cherish your memories until you meet again.
