Morgan D. Kern
Little River
Morgan D. Kern, 84, died Friday, December 9, 2011 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
Born on December 18, 1926 in Bayonne, NJ, he was the son of the late George and Elizabeth Howell Kern.
Mr. Kern was a U.S. Army Veteran, president of the Hazlet First Aid Rescue Squad for 18 years, member of Little River United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the church choir and a lay minister. He was the secretary of the Little River Lions Club, a Master Mason, President of Parkway Homeowner's Association and worked at Mayday Golf Course.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Elaine J. Fischer Kern of Little River; two sons, Chip Kern (fiancée Sue), Frank Kern (Joan) and two grandchildren, Frankie Kern (7) and Mickayla Kern (5).
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, December 13 at Little River United Methodist Church. Burial will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Little River United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 160, Little River, SC 29566 or Little River Lions Club, 4396 Baldwin Avenue, #136, Little River, SC 29566.

We were saddened to hear of Morgan's death. We moved to Parkway 9 years ago and knew him as a kind, thoughtful and helpful neighbor. We are proud to have known him and will miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Elaine and his children and grandchildren. May he rest in peace.
