Russell Callihan Obituary

CONWAY | Russell D. Callihan, 79, of Forest Lake Drive, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at his residence.

Mr. Callihan was born in Jamestown, New York, the son of the late Allen L. and Pearl Bixler Callihan. He was a member of Christ the Servant Lutheran Church. Mr. and Mrs. Callihan were Mercy Hospice Volunteers for several years. He retired in 1989 as president of Dresser/Marion in Marion, Ohio, manufacturer of coal mining equipment. Mr. and Mrs. Callihan moved to Conway in 1990 to make their home. He was predeceased by an infant son and daughter.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Janet A. Callihan of Conway; one son, Dr. Steven Callihan and wife, Teresa, of Myrtle Beach; three grandchildren, Erin, Shannon and Ryan Callihan; three sisters, Pat Cessna of Frewsburg, N.Y., Betty Dill of Bailey, Colo., and Sally Lacagina of Houston; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008 from Christ the Servant Lutheran Church, with Pastor Marion Brazell officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Christ the Servant Lutheran Church, 2105 Hwy 501 E., Conway, SC 29526 or to Mercy Hospice and Palliative Care, P.O. Box 50640, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579.

Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
